Statistical power calculation for the present MR analysis using the analytic method shown in63 (https://cnsgenomics.shinyapps.io/mRnd/). In the calculation, the total phenotypic variance explained by instrumental variables was set to be 1.23%, the significance level Ī± was set to be 0.05, the proportion of the asthma cases was set to be 16.3%. Various sample sizes (i.e. 40,000, 61,916 and 100,000) were considered. For each situation of sample size, the OR was assumed to be 1.10, 1.20 or 1.30, respectively. The estimated power was shown on the top of each bar.
