Assessment of PTH in the treatment of osteoporosis in the right femur. (a) Coronal view of three-dimensional images of the femur obtained using microCT. The femurs of OVX and PTH rats are shown. (b) Parameters of cancellous bone obtained using microCT. Measurements were performed on an area 1.5 to 3.5 mm proximal to the growth plate at one end of the distal metaphysis of the femur. The target region was examined for bone volume (BV/TV), and the thickness (Tb.Th), number (Tb.N), and separation (Tb.Sp) of the trabeculae. *P < 0.05.
