Oblique component of pupil ellipticity. The tilt of the pupil ellipse varies with viewing angle. Mathur and colleagues (2013) measured component “C” of the pupil ellipse, which was calculated as \((1-PDR)sin\,[2(\theta -\frac{\pi }{2})]\), where θ is the tilt of the entrance pupil ellipse. Their observed C values are plotted in black. The current model (dashed red line) replicates the Mathur empirical result well (RMSE = 3e-3).
