Ellipse fit error. (A) For some points on the stop boundary, the model is unable to find a valid ray path that arrives at the pinhole aperture of the camera. The number of such missing perimeter points as a function of viewing angle is shown. (B) The set of points that define the pupil boundary in the image are not exactly elliptical due in part to the refractive effects of the cornea. The root mean squared distance of the pupil boundary points from the best fitting ellipse as a function of viewing angle is shown. The fitting error is expressed in mm.
