From: Depletion of Ras Suppressor-1 (RSU-1) promotes cell invasion of breast cancer cells through a compensatory upregulation of a truncated isoform

RSU-1L depletion from MCF-7 abolishes tumor spheroid invasion, while its depletion from MDA-MB-231-LM2 enhances invasion. Tumor spheroid invasion assay was performed: (a–d) in MCF-7 cells expressing control SshRNA construct (a,b) or RSU-1L shRNA (c,d,e–h) in MDA-MB-231-LM2 cells stably transfected with control (e,f) or RSU-1L shRNA (g,h). (i) Percentage (%) change in MCF-7, and MDA-MB-231-LM2 spheroids’ dimensions (average of major and minor axis) within 18 h. At least 8 spheroids were analyzed per condition and 3 independent experiments were performed. Asterisks indicate statistically significant changes (*p value < 0.05, **p value < 0.01, ***p value < 0.001) compared to the condition of SshRNA-treated cells.
