Survival benefit from concurrent chemoradiotherapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma according to the compactness-based risk model. The Kaplan-Meier curves for overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were compared for concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) and radiotherapy alone (RT) in the Beijing dataset (A–H). P-values were calculated using the log-rank test. The survival analyses were performed for all patients and patients in the low-risk, moderate-risk, and high-risk compactness subgroups. A subcohort from the Beijing dataset was generated using propensity score matching and subjected to the same analyses (I–P).
