From: Building carbon structures inside hollow carbon spheres

TEM image of (a) HCSs, (b) CuO@HCS (5% loading) before reduction and (c) Cu@HCS (5% loading) after reduction under H2 at 400 °C for 1 h. Note that images (b,c) are taken from different collections of HCSs, but from the same sample. The arrows in (b) indicate that the CuO particles are found both inside and outside the HCS.
