Effects of BBR and herbal extracts on triglycerides and on cholesterol. Cells were treated with BBR and the indicated herbal extracts, followed by lipid extraction and direct quantitation using GC for (A) triglycerides, (B) total cholesterol, (C) free cholesterol, and (D) cholesterol ester. Error bars are based on the SEM of at least two experiments. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01 and ***p < 0.001, significantly reduced lipid content compared to untreated control cells.
