Effect of KoRV infection on CD4:CD8 expression ratio of KoRV negative (left, n = 20) vs KoRV infected (right, n = 19) koalas. Geometric mean (line) and 95% CI of the geometric mean for CD4:CD8 relative expression ratio calculated from CD gene expression relative to reference genes calculated using the ΔCq method67. The CD4:CD8 expression ratio is significantly lower in koala retrovirus (KoRV) positive koalas (*p < 0.05, T test with Welch’s correction for uneven variance), and less variable.
