Carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen atoms are color-coded green, blue, and red, respectively. (A) Side view, (B) view from Met1 along the helix axis showing the typical cloverleaf-like arrangement of the proline rings due to the three-fold symmetry of the left-handed PPII helix. Pairwise alignment of backbone atoms from Pro2 to Pro4 was performed using PyMOL (The PyMOL Molecular Graphics System, Version 1.7.2.1, Schrödinger, LLC).
