Pre-smolt | Parr marks almost completely obscured by the silvery appearance of the scales, receding red spots, and fish are relatively thinner in appearance than parr. |
Smolt | Absence of parr marks, almost fully silvering of scales, no red spots, darkened fins, and fish are slender in appearance than parr and pre-smolts. The head is more pointed. |
