AAV8-DIO-hM3Dq-mCherry (activator) and AAV8-DIO-hM4Di-mCherry (inhibitory) were injected into the arcuate nucleus of AgRP-ires-cre and POMC-cre mice, respectively. CNO (1–2.5 mg/kg) or PBS was injected every 6 or 8 hours for 5 days. All mice then received PBS for an additional 3 days. All experiments were done under pair-feeding conditions.
