(a) Large lakes forming close to the grounding line on the Lazarev Ice Shelf in Dronning Maud Land, and which appear to drain into the snow-pack/firn. (b) An example of lakes clustered near the lateral margin of the Rayner Glacier, near to nunataks in Enderby Land. In both locations, SGLs are advected with ice flow.
