Experimental Setup. The pulses are generated by a mode-locked fiber laser (MLFL), restricted in bandwidth by a waveshaper (WS) and fed into the microring resonator (MRR). The temporal characterization will be done by an electrical sampling scope (Osci), whereas the spectral characterization will be carried out by an optical spectrum analyzer (OSA). Two cascaded intensity modulators with synchronized frequency inputs serve as the Nyquist block, which samples the signal. PC: polarization controller, IM: Lithium Niobate Mach-Zehnder intensity modulator, EDFA: erbium doped fiber amplifier, PLL: phase locked loop for RF signal generation, PD: photodiode.
