From: Pluronic gel-based burrowing assay for rapid assessment of neuromuscular health in C. elegans

Characterization of wild-type animal locomotion in a thin Pluronic gel layer. (a) Individual animal velocity obtained by tracking the body centroid every 15 seconds. The average burrowing velocity is 1.14 mm/min. (b) Undulatory frequency of individuals obtained from the time required to complete one sinusoid body movement. The average undulatory frequency is 0.07 Hz. In (a,b) no food source was used and the assay conditions were 26% w/w PF-127 and H ≈ 1 mm. The error bars represent standard error of mean calculated from 8 time intervals per individual animal.
