Muscle-specific gene expression in fast burrowers compared to slow burrowers. Normalized gene expression scores are shown as ratios for the successful burrowing class (among the top 10–15% that reached the top faster) to the levels for slower animals that remained in the gel by the end of the two-hour time period. zig-12, unc-27, and mup-2 were expressed significantly more for fast burrower animals in comparison to slower ones.
