Localization of the interaction between M2-1 and PABPC1. (a) Cells were infected by a recombinant RSV expressing M2-1-GFP (green) and PABPC1 was localized by immunofluorescence (red). DNA was stained by Hoechst 33258 (blue). Images were taken under a Leica SP8 confocal microscope. Representative images from 3 independent experiments are shown. (b) Cells were simultaneously infected by RSV-M2-1-GFP and transfected with PABPC1-Cherry. At 24 h p.i., cells were imaged in a chamber heated at 37 °C, with a Olympus FV3000 confocal microscope. The M2-1-GFP protein was visualized by green fluorescence and the PABPC1-Cherry by red fluorescence. Representative images from four independent experiments are shown. White triangles and white arrows indicate M2-1 and PABPC1 signal of IBAGs undergoing disassembly and fusion, respectively.
