  1. Colony-forming units (cfu), representing surviving S. gordonii cells, were determined after serial dilutions. Data presented are the means ± standard deviation from one of the independent experiments (triplicates for both groups). Comparisons between the means of cfu on PPCM at different incubation time points were analyzed by ANOVA Post Hoc Tests (Tukey). No surviving S. gordonii cells (0 cfu) on ACM prevented the comparisons between PPCM and ACM and within the ACM groups. * indicates significant difference in means of the 24 h group from those of the 8 h and 48 h groups on PPCM (p < 0.01).
