Antigen-Specific Adaptive Tolerance Induction (ASATI). Tregitopes are highly conserved regulatory T cell epitopes found in human and other species’ IgG (blue peptides in this illustration). They may serve to reduce the immunogenicity of neo-epitopes in the hypervariable region of the IgG CDR. We show that when Tregitopes are co-administered with other antigens (such as Type 1 Diabetes target antigens), they can suppress immune response to those antigens. Thus, Tregitopes have therapeutic potential in autoimmunity, allergy and in other clinical applications.
