Increased production of IL-6 by miR-146a knock-down in CF macrophages in response to LPS. Cytokines produced by LPS-stimulated macrophages transfected with the miR-146a inhibitor (α-miR-146a-5p) or the control inhibitor (Ctr). IL-6 (top), IL-10 (middle) and IL-8 (bottom) were quantified in the supernatants of non-CF (n = 7) and CF (n = 7) macrophages 24 h after transfection, using ELISA. *p < 0.05 (Wilcoxon tests).
