Colony forming assay of freshly isolated and cultured samples derived from patients with MMD, MMD-O, and controls. The number of definitive EPCs increased in the PBMNCs cultured from controls (n = 23) but remained the same in those cultured from patients with MMD (n = 23) or MMD-O (n = 7). With regards to primitive EPC colonies, there was no significant difference between controls and MMD or MMD-O in both PBMNCs and cultured PBMNCs. The figure was generated by plotting values using a box-and-whisker plot.
