The red dotted line corresponds to the best fit to \({N}_{C}(A)=\kappa {A}^{\beta }\), with a scaling factor \(\kappa =2130\) and exponent \(\beta =0.93\) (\({R}^{2}\) = 0.97). The three outliers for \(A < 0.01{\text{mm}}^{2}\) correspond to colonies with distinctive features when compared to the rest (partly differentiated).
