Representative CFM adhesion and topography maps of four subsequent measurements at two different temperatures of the same PNIPAM modified wood cell. The maps were obtained with a CH3-terminated AFM tip. Areas close to the lumen and the middle lamella showed higher adhesion to the hydrophobic tip resulting in yellowish color at 40 °C and indicate switchable adhesion forces.
