The abundance of 5hmC increased in HeLa cells at the G1 (a,b) and S (a,c) phases after VPA treatment, but only in proliferating cells after 5-aza-CdR treatment (a,c). 3D graphs plotted from representative images revealed fluorescence intensity based on an 8-bit intensity scale (0–110) (b).
