Effects of Esc(1–21) and Esc(1–21)-1c on the shape of CFBE cells. The cells were fixed in formaldehyde and stained with DAPI and phalloidin after 20 h treatment with 10 μM Esc(1–21) or 1 μM Esc(1–21)-1c. The formation of cytoplasmic protrusions in peptide-treated cells are indicated by arrows. Scale bars, 10 μm.
