A diagram showing the reaction scheme of the qBV assay. Sialidase cleaves the substrate sialic acid – O –luciferin (SA-Firefly Luciferin) to release luciferin, which is subsequently oxidized by luciferase in the reaction to produce a detectable light signal. The light signal indicates the presence of sialidase in the sample.
