Characterization of red blood cell derived extracellular vesicles (REVs). Freeze-fracture combined transmission electron microscopy (FF-TEM) was used to visualize the morphology of REVs (a), size distribution and concentration of REVs was measured by microfluidic resistive pulse sensing (MRPS, b), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to characterize the protein and lipid content of the vesicles (c).
