Predicted ITS2 secondary structure diagrams for LxSd1. Roman numerals (I to IV) indicate the helix number. The figure shows the typical structural motifs for eukaryotes, namely, the pyrimidine–pyrimidine mismatch (indicated by arrow heads) in helix II, an A-rich region (arrow) between helices II and III, and the GGU motif (outlined arrow head) on the 5′ side of the apex of helix III. A branched helix I is typical of Sphaeropleales.
