Robust protection by TRPA1 deletion in the ovalbumin sensitization model of asthma. WT and TRPA1 KO Rats were sensitized or not (naïve group) and challenged with OVA. 24 hours after the final OVA challenge (28 days after initial OVA sensitization), bronchial lavage was analyzed for eosinophils and neutrophils by FACS. (A) Eosinophils increased 7-fold in the BALF in WT rats but not in TRPA1 KO rats (Tukey’s multiple comparisons test; p = 0.0383).
