  1. Cox Hazard regression models with post-bronchodilator FVC/TLCCT quartiles as independent variables (exposure) and mortality as the dependent variable(outcome) were performed.
  2. All models for mortality included the following co-variates: age, sex, race, smoking status, smoking pack-years, body mass index (BMI), history of asthma and congestive heart failure, and diabetes mellitus.
