Ectopic expression of ecfG1 in an ΔecfG1ΔecfG2 mutant background compared to the wild type strain. A partial recovery of the expression from the PnepR2 promoter was shown upon entrance in stationary phase (a). Also, a partial phenotypic complementation was observed regarding sensitivity to CuSO4 3.5 mM and NaCl 600 mM (b). Control strains harboured plasmid pSEVA224, while the complemented strain carried pMPO1433, in all the cases in the presence of IPTG 1 mM.
