From: Oral lichen planus interactome reveals CXCR4 and CXCL12 as candidate therapeutic targets

CXCR4 is overexpressed in the connective tissue of oral lichen planus. Representative microphotographs of CXCR4 receptor immunohistochemical staining in oral tissues (40× objective). Positive staining is shown in brown. Compared to the controls, oral lichen planus lesions show high intensity and reactivity to CXCR4 in areas of active inflammatory infiltrate.
