Normalized Capability to Latency-Energy-Amount-Resistant breakdown for driving force analysis. The entire C-L-E-A-R is broken-down into four groups each contains two parts: the scaling-factor which shows the factors considered along the technology evolution path (x-axis) and the revealing-factor which shows the tracking ability of the chosen factor or factor combinations (y-axis). Results show that a later deviation from the normalized development tracking is observed when more factors are included to describe computer performance. (a) Speed excluding capability (C’) against latency-energy-amount-cost (LEAR). (b) Capability (C) against latency-energy-amount-cost (LEAR). (c) Capability per latency-energy (CLE) against amount-cost (AR). (d) Capability per latency-energy-amount (CLEA) against cost (R). Both x and y-axes are normalized to unity for better comparison. The linear growth and the saturating regions are covered with blue and red shadows respectively.
