pSer129 α-synuclein pathology in mice injected with PFFs. Wild type mice were injected bilaterally in the OB with PFFs or PBS (control). Six-months after injections the load of pathological phosphorylated α-synuclein (pSer129) was assessed by immunohistochemistry. Representative images of the anterior olfactory nucleus, piriform cortex and substantia nigra of a PFFs injected female mouse (a, b & c) and male mouse (g, h & i) are shown at 4X magnification (scale bar 250 μm). The pSer129 immunopositive signal was scored on blinded serial sections including the entire anterior olfactory nucleus, piriform cortex and substantia nigra in female (d, e & f) and male (j, k & l) mice.
