Plotted in the lower aspect of each panel is the instantaneous respiration frequency which was calculated off of the inspiration peaks to enable analysis of respiratory frequency dynamics relative to odor onset. Horizontal dashed line indicates the threshold operationally defined as ‘investigation behavior’ (6 Hz). Odor presentation (6 s) is indicated by the solid horizontal red bar.
