(a) 100 cycles of Galvanostatic (constant current) charging and discharging of the cells with IL (black colour) and without IL (red colour) as a function of time. The charge and discharge cycles were interrupted when the cell voltage exceeded 4.0 V, or dropped below 3.0 V respectively. Notice the break plot from 3 to 81 days. The cell with IL (black) outperformed the cell without IL (red) by providing at least 6 days more service. (b) Rate performance of the cell for electrolyte with IL at different current rate of 10 mA/g, 40 mA/g and 100 mA/g.
