A posteriori probability of directed causal relevance between characteristics of patients calculated by BN-BMLA and depicted in Figs. 2 and 3. Values greater than 0.75 are regarded as convincing, values between 0.5 and 0.75 indicate suggestive relevance²⁰. The directions of the dependencies can be seen in Fig. 2. Disease onset differentiates whether the asthma started in childhood or in adulthood using age 12 years as a cut off.
