Chromosome suspension stained with PI (propidium iodide) (400×). Large numbers of “single chromosomes” (s) and a few non-dispersed clusters of chromosomes (c) were observed in the chromosome suspension under a microscope. Not all single fluorescent dots were “single floating chromosomes” and there were a few non-dispersed clusters of chromosomes in the chromosome suspension.
