A schematic illustration indicating the role of miR-200b-3p in angiogenesis in HCC tissues. Left panel: In non-cancer tissues, hepatocytes generate and release miR-200b-3p via exosomes, which inhibits ERG protein expression in endothelial cells. Decreased expression of ERG inhibits the proliferation of endothelial cells. Right panel: In HCC tissues, miR-200b-3p expression by HCC cells is suppressed, and the ERG expression in endothelial cells is no longer inhibited. As a result, ERG expression is augmented, and angiogenesis is increased in HCC tissues.
