Somatic embryogenesis and shoot organogenesis from root explants of Scaevola sericea. (a) White root from plantlets cultured on MS medium with 0.5 mg/L NAA for 30 days; (b) roots became green and formed some adventitious roots after culture on MS medium with 2.5 mg/L NAA for 30 days; (c–e) roots cultured on MS medium with 2.5 mg/L BA induced some granular protuberances, globular- and heart-shaped somatic embryos after culture for 30, 40, and 50 days, respectively; (f) somatic embryos and adventitious shoots were induced on MS medium with 2.5 mg/L TDZ for 60 days.
