Histological studies of thrombus formation at a bleeding site in subject rabbits after H12-ADP-liposome administration following PRP transfusion. (A,B) Light micrographs of toluidine blue-stained specimens of ear bleeding sites. Platelet thrombus formation is observed in contact with the disrupted subcutaneous tissue. (C,D) Magnified images of the same part observed under scanning electron microscopy. Elliptical structures, several hundred nanometers in diameter, are observed surrounded by platelets, representing H12-ADP-liposomes (arrows) involved in thrombus formation.
