Each triangle or cross represents one individual under study, plotted using a list of kidney or heart metabolites found to be statistically significant by a MW test. For the PCA (A,B) and PLS-DA (C,D) plots, the x- and y-axes show principal components 1 and 2, respectively. For the OPLS-DA plots (E,F), the x- and y-axes show the variance explained across and within the groups, respectively. The percentages shown in brackets along each axis indicate the amount of data variance explained by that component.
