Summary of substances which increased or decreased (white upward or black downward arrows shown to the left of each substance, respectively) intracellular calcium concentration in PVN-CRF neurons. Substances listed in the left panel affected both dorsal- and ventral-CRF neurons (non-biased). In contrast, carbachol seemed to mainly affect the dorsal-CRF neurons (dorsal-biased), whereas angiotensin II and histamine mainly affected the ventral-CRF neurons (ventral-biased).
