Sorting strategy for separating mammary subpopulations. The figure shows representative scatterplots of a sample of bovine mammary epithelial cells and the general sorting strategy adopted. A broad gate was set for the physical parameters, then events that were positive for 7-AAD (dead cells) and CD45 + (leucocytes) were excluded from the population of interest. Cells were then separated according to the expression levels of CD49f and P-Cadherin.
