Intramyocardial injection of CMCs increases monocytes and macrophages in infarcted mouse hearts. CMCs (5 × 105) were intramyocardially injected in the mouse hearts 2 d after MI. Seven days later, hearts were harvested and monocytes and macrophages were detected with flow cytometry (A and B respectively), and quantified (C and D respectively). Number of cells shown as mean; sham n = 5, MI n = 6; *P < 0.05; **P < 0.01 (unpaired t test).
