The BSPs (c, d) show the temporal changes in mitochondrial diversity. The y-axis of the BSPs shows the genetic diversity expressed as the effective female population size (Ne). The bold line inside each BSPs represents the median value and thin lines the 95% HPD intervals. For both BSPs, the null hypothesis of a constant population size was rejected with a high confidence (Bayes Factors > 6).
