The difference between bleb plication and MICS. (A) Bleb leakage from a large ischemic bleb. (B) Bleb needle redirection to float the conjunctiva away from the sclera. (C) The conjunctiva is now mobile and can be plicated (sutured to the corneal limbus). As a result, the bleb is covered by the non-ischemic conjunctiva. (D) Subconjunctival anesthetic is injected behind the bleb. (E) The bleb is plicated; however, it can still be covered by the ischemic conjunctiva. MICS: incision-free minimally invasive conjunctival surgery.
