Kaplan–Meier survival curves for the participants, stratified into two groups on the basis of FIB-4 index at baseline. Use of the optimal cut-off value of the FIB-4 index for the prediction of decreased insulin secretion (HOMA-β < 30) determined using receiver operating characteristic analysis (1.592), the subjects in the longitudinal study were stratified into two groups: an at-risk (high) and a not at-risk (low) groups. The differences between the groups were assessed using log-rank test. p < 0.05 was considered to represent statistical significance.
