Existing methods and limitations of mandibular reconstruction. In the existing digital surgery process, the common method is to mirror repair or manually look for other similar mandibles for local data fusion and smoothing processing. (a) Shows the mirror process of manual repair in traditional surgical simulation. (a1) original mandible; (a2) simulation of the removal of all abnormal parts; (a3) mirror, crop and splice of the normal parts to achieve the expected reference model; however, the accuracy is often not good). (b) Shows some cases of mandibular defects that are difficult to repair.
