Overview of the feature extraction procedure for individual age prediction through linear regression carried out, separately, for NKI2 and ICBM datasets. We fitted separate regression models for mean cortical thickness and gyrification index throughout the whole cortex and for each FD estimate strategy in order to select the most accurate predictive model. In each model, estimated total intracranial volume (eTIV) values and gender have been inserted as additional features (see the text for other abbreviations).
